What happens to hair in a pool, and what does this stop?

Chlorinated water strips the oils that coat hair and roughens the cuticle. Hair turns dry, tangles, breaks at the ends and lets color fade faster. It also takes up water like a sponge, and bleached, highlighted, chemically treated, fine or damaged hair takes up the most and shows it first.

Pre-Swim Hair Defense puts a nourishing barrier on the strand before any of that starts. The barrier locks in moisture and blocks chlorine damage, and it now carries UV protection for the sun.

Green hair is metal, not dye. Copper and other metals in the water are oxidized by chlorine and bind to light or porous hair, and pool chemistry varies. The barrier is made to keep that tint from taking hold and to protect your color.

Damp hair helps too: hair already wet with clean water takes up less pool water. Less, not none.

How to use

1. Dampen your hair with clean water, or start dry.
2. Apply a generous amount and pay special attention to the ends.
3. Wait 3 to 5 minutes so it absorbs into the hair.

5. Rinse with clear water afterward.
