Chlorine Clarifying Shampoo is a swimmers' shampoo for the pool smell that an ordinary shampoo can leave behind. It washes chlorine out of hair, refreshes dry and dull color, and is color safe, vegan, paraben free and Leaping Bunny certified. It is made in California and designed to be used with Pre-Swim Hair Defense.
Why does hair still smell like chlorine after you wash it?
Hair takes up water like a sponge, so pool water does not just sit on the surface. A rinse right after swimming removes surface residue, and a swimmers' shampoo lifts chlorine and metal residue that a rinse leaves. That is the job here. After a swim, the shampoo is meant to alleviate dry hair, dull color and chlorine smell, and leave hair smelling and feeling great instead of brittle and pool-scented.
Chlorine also strips the oils that coat hair and roughens the cuticle, which is where dryness and dull color come from. Washing out the residue is the first half of the fix. Conditioning is the second.
How to use it after a swim
- Rinse your hair with clear water as soon as you are out of the pool.
- Lather the shampoo into wet hair.
- Rinse it out.
- If the chlorine smell is still there, repeat.

How do you get chlorine out of hair?

Is a chlorine shampoo different from a regular shampoo?

Will it get the green out of blonde hair?
The green tint is copper and other metals, oxidized by chlorine, binding to light or porous hair, and pool chemistry varies.
